History

IP Partners was founded in 2017 with a intense desire to assist the burgeoning start-up community in Greater Saint Louis. Situated in the heart of the innovative district at the CIC@CET, we assist clients with all aspects of intellectual property, locally, through the United States, and abroad.  IP Partners focuses on patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyright, licensing, litigation, and entrepreneurial strategy.  We will guide you through every step of the process involved in ensuring that your unique innovations are adequately protected.  The law establishes tools to assist you through the applications for trademark, copyright, and patent law, at IP Partners we can use these tools to help you retain your IP-assets and prevent your knowledge from becoming an advantage to your competitors.  We can help you guard against brand confusion to allow your brand and products to grow profitably.  We will work with you to ensure that your brand and products are protected from duplication and illegal infringement.

Partner

Adam L. Bagwell

Adam is a registered USPTO patent attorney. His practice includes all areas of intellectual property strategy and intellectual property law, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the United States and abroad, preparation and prosecution trademark application in the United States and abroad, and preparation of copyright applications. His practice focuses primarily in the fields of electronics, computer systems, e-commerce and business method patent preparation and prosecution, as well as IP litigation, patentability/freedom-to-operate/clearance opinions, licensing, and other intellectual property issues.

Prior to getting his Juris Doctorate, Adam worked in the software development and computer industry for over 10 years. He developed and managed computer and internet applications for companies such as EDS, SBC, and Anheuser-Busch. He developed with .Net (C#, VB.Net, Remoting), Java, C/C++, Assembler, Python, Ruby, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, ASP 3, HTML/CSS.

Bob Maher

Bob is a biologist with undergraduate and graduate training in endocrinology from Virginia Tech. Bob spent over 10 years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries working with respiratory drugs, in-vitro diagnostics, and associated methods and instrumentation.  Earlier this decade, while working with business development on matters related to acquisition of new IP as well as protection of existing IP, Bob became very interested to pursue intellectual property law in a personal and intimate capacity.  Bob graduated from SLU Law in May 2016 and was sworn in to the Missouri Bar on September 30th, 2016.
